Privacy

• No account, no analytics, no tracking, no crash reporting.
• Your layouts, rules and settings stay on your Mac.
• The only network requests are to activate, check and deactivate a licence with our payment provider, Dodo Payments.

• Layouts, per-app rules and settings, in Layr’s own folder on your Mac.
• Trial start time and, once activated, your licence key and activation id, in your macOS Keychain, with a copy stored alongside Layr’s settings so that losing one doesn’t reset your trial or licence.
• To place windows, Layr reads the names, titles, positions and sizes of open windows through macOS Accessibility. This stays on your Mac and is never sent anywhere. Layr doesn’t read window contents.

Layr talks only to the licence service of our payment provider, Dodo Payments, and only for your licence:

• Activation sends your licence key and a randomly generated device label.
• Checks, about once a day when online, send your licence key and activation id.
• Deactivation sends the same two values.

No layouts, window titles, app lists, display details or usage data are ever included. As with any internet request, the licence service can see your IP address. During the trial, before you enter a key, Layr makes no licence requests.

Purchases happen on Dodo Payments’ hosted checkout, opened in your browser. Dodo Payments acts as the merchant of record and collects what it needs to process the payment and email your key, such as your name, email address, billing country and payment details, under its own privacy policy. We receive order details from Dodo Payments to support your purchase. We never see your full card details.

This site uses no analytics, no advertising, no cookies and no third-party scripts. Fonts are served from this site. Like any web server, the hosting provider may keep standard request logs (such as IP address, browser and page requested) for security and reliability.

• Uninstall Layr as described in the FAQ. To also remove its saved layouts and settings, contact support for step-by-step help.
• Deactivate your licence in Layr to remove this Mac’s activation from the licence service.
• For data held by Dodo Payments about a purchase, contact us at [email protected] or Dodo Payments directly.

If Layr ever starts collecting anything new, this page will change before the app does, and the change will be listed in the changelog.
